The Tug “Capo Gee” owned by Rashied Maritime Participates with Rescue Units to Float the Container Ship EVER GIVEN in the Suez Canal
Engineer Ahmed Rashied, Vice Chairman of Rashied Maritime Services, confirmed that the tugboat “Capo Gee” owned by the company and registered under the umbrella of the Jordan Maritime Authority participated with the rescue units of the Suez Canal Authority in the flotation of the Panamanian container ship EVER GIVEN, which is one of the largest container ships in the world; with a length of 400 meters. This stems from a sense of national responsibility and a sense of the vital and global role of the Suez Canal in the facilitation of international trade movement between the East and West, and the urge for the speedy return of the navigation movement in the Suez Canal.
It is noteworthy that the ship belonging to the international shipping line EVER GREEN ran aground in the waterway of the Suez Canal on Tuesday morning, March 23, 2021, and stopped across the channel, causing the suspension of navigation in the canal.
“Capo Gee” was built in 2018 with a capacity of 6000 horsepower and a pulling capacity of nearly 100 tons. It has previously participated in support operations and towing services in many oil fields and natural gas platforms of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
